Whoever controlled the river, won the war. Join Town of Poughkeepsie Historic Preservation Commissioner Daniel Fannon for a deep dive into the history and importance of the Hudson River to the American cause for freedom in this multi-media presentation. Explore the vital military and economic/cultural role the Hudson River and the Valley played in winning the Revolutionary War. Since the Hudson River was the primary inland link between the New England and Southern States, the struggle for control of its waters became the decisive factor as to whether the Revolution would end in victory or defeat.
