Patriots Among Us ~ A Revolutionary Cemetery Experience

Step back in time and meet some of the local patriots who helped shape our community during the American Revolution. On this special, family friendly day at the New Hackensack Cemetery, attendees will meet several patriots buried there who served in Colonel Brinckerhoff’s Dutchess County Militia, 2nd Regiment, and learn more about their lives and contributions. Explore the fascinating world of colonial headstones and learn about colonial headstones and what the symbols and inscriptions mean. You'll also learn how to safely clean and care for historic tombstones, and younger history detectives will enjoy a special scavenger hunt designed just for them.
