Marian McEvoy is a distinguished figure in fashion journalism and interior design. Her career began in fashion journalism, where she served as the European editor for Women’s Wear Daily and W in Paris. During her 17-year tenure in Paris, McEvoy also contributed to publications such as the International Herald Tribune, French Vogue, and the Sunday Times of London.
In the late 1980s, McEvoy returned to the United States to become the founding editor of Elle Décor, a role in which she significantly influenced interior design publishing. Her editorial vision later led her to the position of editor-in-chief at House Beautiful.
After moving to Wappingers Falls in 1997, McEvoy retired from the publishing world in 2002 to focus on personal creative endeavors, immersing herself in crafting, creating unique home décor items such as collages with pressed flowers, obelisks adorned with cork, and lampshades with whimsical drawings. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for nature, natural forms and folk art.
