15th Annual Dutchess County Saint Patrick's Day Parade
Mesier Homestead will be open for tours the afternoon of the parade. We will also be selling snacks and items from the gift shop on the front porch. Stop by and see us!
Parade step off is at 1pm, and this year's Grand Marshal is Gerry McVicker. Click here for more parade specific details.

This is the elections meeting for the Wappingers Historical Society Board of Trusties [consisting of five (5) Officers and six (6) Trustees]. Members must be present at meeting to vote.

To all Wappingers Historical Society Members,
Thursday, April 29th is the meeting to elect our new Board and Trustees, we are asking everyone to arrive at 6:15, we will start promptly at 6:30. We are starting earlier than originally planned, to allow anyone that needs or wants to attend the Village Budget meeting on the same night, to come to the election meeting and vote as it is required to vote in person, after placing your vote you are free to leave if you need to and you will receive the results by e mail. If you owe dues, you will not be able to place your vote until they are paid. Please come early if you need to do so.

Annual Festival of the Arts & Village Yard Sale
Annual Festival of the Arts
On Saturday, May 15, the Wappingers Central School District's Fine and Performing Arts Department will sponsor the 60th Annual Festival of the Arts in Mesier Park in Wappingers Falls. The Festival starts at 10am and closes at 4pm.

Village Yard Sale
Come find a treasure at one of the many yard sales held throughout the Village. This is also a good chance to take a leisurely stroll through Village streets.

Cemetery Records Restoration Project
Cemetery records at the Wappingers Rural Cemetery, post 1910, were lost to fire. Please join us May 22nd in our efforts to restore this missing data.

Victorian Tea Party
Wappingers Historical Society Victorian Tea Party at The Mesier Homestead Sunday May 23, 2010 2:00 to 4:00 PM $20 Members ~ $25 Non-Members Please call 845-838-1498 for reservations.
The Wappingers Historical Society is hosting a Victorian Tea Party in conjunction with the Hudson Valley Ladies Aide Society, a group of Civil War Re-enactors.
This is the first of what will become an annual event to commerate the 1777 Wappigners Falls Tea Party.
In addition to tea, guests will be trated to tea sandwiches and baked goods. The Hudson Valley Ladies Aide Society will be dressed in period costumes and will entertain guests with a discussion of life for women in the 19th century. Guests will also be able to enjoy a display of historical women's clothing from the Society's collection.
